QWAN KIDO HISTORY
History of Qwan Ki Do
Qwan Ki Do is a traditional Vietnamese martial art founded by Grand Master Pham Xuan Tong in 1981. It combines the rich heritage of ancient Vietnamese martial arts with techniques inspired by Chinese martial traditions, creating a complete system of self-defense, physical conditioning, and personal development.
The name “Qwan Ki Do” means “The Way of the Body’s Energy.” The art emphasizes discipline, respect, perseverance, humility, and self-control alongside effective combat skills.
Today, Qwan Ki Do is practiced in many countries around the world. It includes hand and foot techniques, forms (Quyền), self-defense applications, weapon training, breathing exercises, and traditional values that help students develop both physically and mentally.
Qwan Ki Do continues to preserve its traditional roots while promoting health, confidence, respect, and lifelong learning for practitioners of all ages.
